How REDDOXX MailSealer works
REDDOXX MailSealer can be quickly and easily integrated into your existing IT environment. The solution centrally handles the signing and encryption of your emails – fully automatically and user-friendly. This allows you to communicate reliably and in compliance with GDPR, without additional effort for your users.
1. installation and setup
MailSealer is integrated into your existing IT infrastructure as a virtual appliance. It is installed on your preferred virtualization platform – e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, XEN, KVM, Proxmox or other hypervisors.
After installation, the appliance undergoes basic configuration, for example with the connection to your Active Directory (LDAP) to automatically synchronize users, groups and e-mail addresses.
As soon as the connection to the mail server and the policy rules have been defined, central e-mail encryption can be activated for outgoing messages – flexibly, securely and quickly ready for operation.
2. automatic signature and encryption
All outgoing emails are automatically signed on the server side and – depending on the rules – also encrypted. The system automatically recognizes whether the recipient supports encryption (e.g. S/MIME or PGP) or whether the message should be sent via the secure web portal. Of course, you can also force the type of encryption for individual recipients.
All communication remains completely transparent for the user. Nothing changes for your employees in their day-to-day work – security is managed centrally.
3. secure delivery for all recipients
Recipients with an existing encryption solution (e.g. an S/MIME certificate) receive the message directly in encrypted form. External recipients without their own solution access their message via the secure REDDCRYPT web portal – without any installation or prior technical knowledge. And of course they can reply to you in encrypted form just as easily.
This allows you to reach every customer, supplier or partner in compliance with data protection regulations – regardless of their IT environment.
4. seamless management and centralized control
REDDCRYPT and OpenPGP keys are automatically generated, distributed and managed by the system – even for new recipients or changing contacts. Administrators also retain an overview of processes, guidelines and deliveries at all times.
